Here we have a four game Pong console from a company called OPL, I can't find much about them online but they seem to have rebranded several Pong consoles under the Optim brand
Several of their consoles are clones of other consoles, some of which are already in the museum. It looks like they rebranded colour and PC50x consoles as well. I have seen at least nine different models online
This one is from 1977 and is black and white with four games, Hockey (or Soccer), Squash, Practice, and Tennis for up to two players, as with many Pongs there are in game options such as bat size, auto/manual serve, fast/slow ball speed, and ball return angle. There is also a power switch and two buttons which are reset and manual serve. This would all be powered by the common AY-3-8500 IC
The box which includes the polys is in an ok condition
On the box the Hockey game is printed as "Soccer or Hockey", while on the console it's just named Hockey
The console itself is (apart from the colour) a clone of the Hanimex 7771 and is very similar to the Tandy TV Scoreboard
Close ups of the score counters, in-game options, game selector, and peeling model label with the game images above
I noticed later that one game is called Practice on the dial, but called Handball within the four game images
The base of the console with the battery compartment, speaker, and TV tuning information
The open battery compartment and the label showing you to tune the TV to CH30. CCIR is the video system used in countries like the UK (625 lines at 50Hz), PAL would be the colour system within the CCIR system
The only socket on the console is external power, there is no connection for external controllers and the console does not offer the shooting games as an option
The side views
The controllers are small and would be uncomfortable to hold for long periods of play, but the dial does feel very nice, like a weighted tuning dial on a quality analogue radio tuner from back in the day
And finally, the RF plug
